The Colorado child support guidelines take into account a number of factors in determining how much the non-custodial parent should pay.
- The income of both parents will be entered into the formula.
- The formula considers overnights and other parenting time by the non-custodial parent.
- If a parent provides additional expenditures such as health insurance and other extraordinary expenses, that will affect the formula.
- If the primary residential parent is caring for a child 30 months old or younger, the formula will consider that.
- The formula guidelines are not an exact method of calculating child support in every case. Special circumstance may convince the court to raise or lower the payment.
