Child custody orders might require clarification or change

Child custody orders should be taken very seriously. Failing to comply with these orders can sometimes lead to serious legal issues. For example, if you are supposed to bring your child to your ex and fail to do so, you could face trouble.

We know that child custody orders aren't always easy to understand but they all focus on the child's best interests. In some cases, the language and terms get complex. We can help you to understand what your child custody order says so that you can make sure that you are doing what you are supposed to do.

As we discussed in the previous blog post, there are some issues that might occur when you are dealing with child custody orders. When these issues do occur, you have to find out how to address the issues so that you can enjoy the time you have with your child.

If the issues that are coming up aren't covered in the child custody order or if they are something is going to be a problem, a child custody modification might be in order. These changes to the child custody order can happen in specific cases, so you should find out if your case is one in which it can apply.

During the child custody modification process, you and your ex might be able to go through mediation or work together to decide on how the custody order should change. This is often a faster option than waiting for a trial date before the court. A faster resolution would mean your child could enjoy the stability of having two parents with a solid child custody order.
