Colorado has some laws that specifically protect same-sex partners. We are fortunate to live in such a progressive state. With this in mind, you might have some protections or options that you might not realize. For example, if you aren’t married, you might want to enter into a domestic partnership. In this case, you can come up with an agreement that is similar to a prenuptial agreement. Having that protection could help you down the road if something happens and the relationship ends on a bad note.
