When you go through a divorce, whether you are going through a same-sex or an opposite-sex divorce, you have specific things to think about. We know that you might not be able to think clearly if the divorce came as a shock to you. We are here to help you work through the issues that are present in your case so that you can move on with your life.

The goal of the divorce is to end your marriage; however, there is more to that than what might seem apparent at a quick glance. You have to think about how ending your marriage will impact the rest of your life. One way is that you will only have one income instead of two. Another way is that you will have to divide your assets.

When you are working through the assets from your marriage, you have to think about how keeping them will affect your life. With only one income, you might not be able to afford to keep up some of the assets that you might want to keep.

Let’s look at the marital home as an example. If you were to keep the home, would you be able to pay the mortgage, taxes, insurance and upkeep? If not or if the expenses would prove to be a challenge, you might need to pass on keeping the home.

We know that the divorce is a major upheaval in your life. We are here to help you learn about all aspects of your case so that you can move forward with the process.
