Learn what points you need to consider in child custody cases

On behalf of The Offices of Keane Law, LLC | Aug 11, 2017 | Child Custody

One of the most important things that parents need to do in a divorce is to determine matters related to child custody. These include basic decisions like when the child will spend time with each parent. As we discussed previously, children of all ages have special considerations that must be addressed in the child custody order.

We know that your children are important to you and that you want what is best for them. Working with your ex for these matters might be one of the best things that you can do for your children. We can help you determine if there are possible solutions to the issues that you face.

You and your ex may want to explore the possibility of mediation. In this process, you and your ex work together with a mediator to determine the points of the child custody case. The mediator helps guide the conversation to keep it on track.

As you work through the issues, it’s essential to remember that you need to focus on what’s in the best interests of your child. You can’t let your own feelings get in the way of making decisions that put your child first. It might be tempting to use your child custody decisions as a way to punish your ex for the divorce, but this could harm your child.

At Keane Law, we understand that you might have some questions about how Colorado laws pertain to your case. We can help you get the answers to these questions so that you can make a plan for your case.
